- Expert use of RMAN for Backup and Recovery
- Extensive Experience implementing Real Application Clusters ( 9i and 10g RAC )
- Experience applying Oracle database patches
- Knowledge of the cost based optimizer knowledge
- Experience using Oracle physical standby databases for Disaster Recovery
- Application tuning, performance tuning using explain plan utility and tkprof is a must
- Establish database change control and versioning procedures and work with data architects and developers to migrate database changes into test, acceptance, and production environments
- Establish standards and policies to ensure enterprise information assets are properly secured and protected by appropriate access management and privacy controls
- Candidates should have good oral and written communication skills in English
- Undergraduate degree in computer science or related area of study,.
- Experience with data modeling and query tools such as ERwin, TOAD is preferred
Unix system admin - Analyze and resolve problems with Sun Unix Server tuning and troubleshooting all aspects of the Sun Solaris Operating System (primary focus would be on Solaris 10)
- Evaluating and applying Sun Solaris packages and security patches
- Maintaining system backups
- Installing new Solaris 10 Operating systems utilizing Solaris Jumpstart
- Developing new Unix scripts to support task automation and monitoring activities
- Installation, support and troubleshooting of Veritas high availability products, specifically VCS, Veritas Clustering Server, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas File System, and Veritas Volume Replicator
- Perform disaster recovery testing
- Perform system wide updates, general maintenance during maintenance windows
- Reporting on system availability, performance and security compliance
- Respond within defined SLA metrics to issues logged in the company ticketing system
- Basic working knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities, self direction
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions
- Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
- Java develop skill is big plus
